For his second piece with the Benthé company, choreographer Théophile ‘Rokej’ B. – rooted in freestyle hip-hop – explores our different relationships with time and how bodies perceive and convey them.

“The passing time, lasting time, the time we lose, the time we gain, the weather, the time we have left, the time allotted to us…” The desire to create often stems from an observation of our world, our societies, and our reactions to a situation. I like to start from our behaviors, I find in them an endless source of inspiration to spark dance and weave a narrative thread. On stage, composers Floyd Shakim and Nouveau Monica act as the keepers of time: the music embodies the seasons of the piece live. Through a succession of scenes, a dreamlike world unfolds where time no longer holds sway – or perhaps too much…
