Routes of Santiago de Compostela

The Routes of Santiago de Compostela, run through the Parc de la Villette. It comes from northern France, and crosses Seine-Saint-Denis along the Saint-Denis canal. Following the GR 655 hiking route along the Quai de la Charente, it enters the park via the north entrance, crosses the Canal de l’Ourcq, bends westwards and goes on along the Canal. From there, walkers continue towards the Tour St Jacques, then Orléans or Chartres before arriving in Tours and continuing to Poitiers, Saintes, Bordeaux and Spain.

Along the Quai de la Charente in Aubervilliers, in the Parc de la Villette and on the Quai de la Marne, which runs alongside the Canal de l’Ourcq in Paris, the route is signposted by bronze shell nails fixed to the ground every 30 metres or so.

This signposting was produced with the help of the Compostelle 2000 association.
