What happens when time collapses, when bodies no longer obey the laws of physics? And what if each gesture were nothing but an echo, a dizzying repetition over time? In Chroniques (Chronicles), Peeping Tom leads five characters through a temporal labyrinth wavering between a dream and a nightmare.

For more than twenty years, Peeping Tom has created an unsettling oeuvre that blends dance and theatre, and surrealism and extreme physicality. In Chroniques, the company has pushed its exploration of liminal zones even further, to the point where reality fragments, where certainties collapse, and familiar points of reference slip away. This new work immerses us into an undefined world floating between interior and exterior, both mentally and physically, between the ruins of the past and the mirages of an uncertain future. Time stretches out, bodies collide, become lost, and reinvent themselves. In this work we espy the foundations of our origins, at the edge of world and matter, in which bodies experience the laws of a universe in the making. Nothing is stable, and everything transforms. Imagination becomes a tool for one’s survival, and poetry, a balancing mechanism. Perhaps it is this instability that gives rise to the possibility of meaning – or of an unmooring.
