Can we still believe what we see? What do you trust as you try to understand the world? Your eyes, your brain, social media, or artificial intelligence? FauxFaire FauxVoir (Fake Make, Fake Sight) is a magical, cognitive, connective experience that explores our perceptions, beliefs, and the new tools that manufacture our realities.
A successful illusion does not rely solely on the skilfulness of a gesture or a mastery of diversion. It also feeds on we think we know, on our personal reference points, and on our brain’s shortcuts. FauxFaire FauxVoir joyously activates these fault lines. At the crossroads of magic and the cognitive sciences, three virtuoso magicians immerse us in a world where the manipulation of our senses, exercises in perception, and mental detours reveal how our senses can be misled. The stage thus becomes a veritable laboratory of thought: a playful, powerful journey that looks at how technology affects what we see and believe. Magic here does more than get us to dream; it unsettles, awakens, and sharpens our view of things. To doubt becomes an act of intelligence, and being fooled, a healthy experience. Between astonishment and awareness, a critical journey through the manufacturing of falsehoods.
