MOULLA / AUGMENTED MAGIC
AI Dream
Est. 1h
From 6 y/o
At the intersection of magic, theatre, and new interactive technologies, Moulla imagines an immersive experience in which illusion and technology merge to the point of blurring the boundary between the real and the virtual.
A lecturer begins to speak. The subject is artificial intelligence. Everything seems clear, rational, and under control. And then, reference points begin to slip. The walls come to life, and the machines wake up. The space shifts, becomes sensitive, and then uncontrollable. The machine takes power. Suddenly and unpredictably, the show begins. From a topic of study, artificial intelligence becomes a character in its own right. But the human is not running it; the machine questions, challenges, and improvises. The audience is unwittingly drawn in to find itself face to face with an AI that overturns our perception of things. We find a new way of imagining technology, as something that is no longer cold and distant, instead alive, surprising, almost human. Featured in the finale of France’s Got Talent, Moulla has become a major figure in digital magic. This new piece offers an experience that is at once entertaining and unsettling, which astonishes us and makes us laugh, and which compels us to question the importance that we assign to machines in our lives.
