Les Chiens de Navarre delight in tackling contemporary issues, running them through the mill of their wild, explosive, and subversive theatre. In this new piece, they confront sexist and sexual violence.

After exploring themes such as national identity (Jusque dans vos bras), family (Tout le monde ne peut pas être orphelin), and the impact of global turmoil on the human psyche (La vie est une fête), Les Chiens de Navarre now take us to the courtroom. The two trials at the heart of this new piece are fictional, but any resemblance to real events is anything but coincidental. The first involves a woman brutally murdered by her husband after years of abuse; the second, a well-known comedian who made an intolerable joke during his daily show on a popular radio station. With their trademark ferocity, the possessed troupe led by Jean-Christophe Meurisse—celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2025—asks: Why is it still so difficult for victims of violence to obtain justice? Where does freedom of speech end, and where does censorship begin?

Through overload, explosion, and emotional release, Les Chiens de Navarre channel our buried impulses into powerful theatrical material.

Warning: This performance addresses domestic and sexual violence. Certain scenes may be disturbing for younger audiences and those who are unprepared.
