FOCUS ON THE GROOVE
Junior battle and international battle
Focus On The Groove offers a unique battle format where each dancer faces the music alone.
Through several stages — connection, live, and freestyle — participants are invited to refocus on what matters most: groove, listening, and their intimate relationship with sound. Each edition features 8 invited guest dancers, women and men, selected with a commitment to parity and high artistic standards.
Created in 2022 by dancer and artistic director Joseph Go N’Guessan, Focus On The Groove is an event dedicated to promoting hip-hop culture and celebrating groove as the very essence of the relationship between body and music. Driven by a strong artistic vision, the project combines freestyle battles, shows, live music, jams, and club atmosphere to offer an immersive, vibrant, and accessible experience, while contributing to the renewal of the French hip-hop scene and opening up internationally.
