BATTLE ALL PARISIAN
The Battle All Parisian, which will take place as part of Freestyle Villette, brings basketball and hip-hop culture together within the same space, combining athletic competition, artistic performance, and creativity.
Each team is composed of 3×3 basketball players and dancers. The teams all represent a different department in the Île-de-France, and their performance asserts that local identity.
The event is not limited to just battles and basketball games; it also include educational workshops in which professionals teach young people how to breakdance and play basketball.
The scheduled events include:
• A 3×3 basketball tournament
• Breakdance battle / Hip-hop battle
Since its founding in 2013, All Parisian Basketball has become the premier youth basketball program in all of France. It is not limited to just athletic competition and traditional clubs. It also includes athletic and cultural events, leagues, camps, screenings, and talks to bring youth together around a culture of basketball open to one and all.
The main event, the All Parisian Games, is an annual U21 all-star game for both boys and girls. It is a true celebration of young people and their talents.
The programme rests on three main principles:
- Unite: bringing youth from different backgrounds together around basketball
- Celebrate: highlighting youth through projects that reveal their talents
- Inspire: teach values and skills that are transferable outside the world of sports
The goal is to instil a generation of young men and women with a sense of confidence, skills, and responsibility by insisting on the equal treatment of boys and girls. The skills developed by playing sports (self-confidence, team spirit, and managing one’s performance) can become useful tools for succeeding in life.
