(LA)HORDE is a collective that is currently at the helm of the National Ballet of Marseilles. Since 2013, its members have pursued their quest for a constantly renewed choreographic language that lies between extreme physicality and post-Internet dance.

In Marry me in Bassiani, (LA)HORDE ventures into the fascinating repertory of traditional dances by Iveroni, a Georgian dance company based in Tbilisi whom they first encountered in 2018. On stage, (LA)HORDE invites dancers who embody this tradition intensely: straight backs, precise steps, and a striking virtuosity. Preparations are under way for a wedding, symbol of a powerful ritual in which the political lurks beneath the celebrations. (LA)HORDE combines folklore and electronic rhythms to pay tribute to the legendary nightclub Bassiani, a bastion of freedom in the heart of Georgia’s capital. The symbolically laden set creates a dialogue between history and modernity, and between tradition and resistance. This piece explores the memory of gesture, its cultural rooting, and its contemporary resonance. With its customary audacity, (LA)HORDE explores new territory in pursuit of its mission to stimulate bodies and minds. A performance where cultural heritage becomes a field of invention, and dance, an impassioned act of transmission.
