LA WAW!
Whack Sensation
The collective La WAW! (What a Whack) brings together DJs, MCs, and dancers around a vision of parties inherited from whacking, a queer, activist culture based on the pleasure and freedom of people’s relationship to music, dance, and clubbing.
In their transformation of the dance floor into a privileged space where everyone is connected to themselves and to others, La WAW! organises joyous, flamboyant events that combine clubbing and performance.
Whackers perform for, and with, their audiences, guided by an MC and a DJ to create a party that is 100% inclusive and shared by everyone.
The hybrid format invites audiences to experience whacking by following the narrative thread of the performance, like a journey across the various facets of this culture: its poses, the punking, the liberation, the storytelling, and more.
