LENA PAUGAM
Ovni rêveur – Le Corps éparpillé dans la tête
ARTIST INITIATIVES
Est. 1h30
Theatre director Lena Paugam orchestrates the encounter between the dancer Thierry Thieû Niang* and the non-verbal, autistic poetess Babouillec. A hypersensitive dialogue that makes light of silence in a language all their own.
Ovni rêveur was born from the desire to bring together Thierry Thieû Niang* and Babouillec, who was introduced to the general public through Julie Bertuccelli’s documentary Dernières nouvelles du cosmos. Diagnosed as non-verbal autistic, the author has developed her spiritual vision and powerful style through various texts – poetry, novels, essays – some of which have already been adapted for the stage. But here, Lena Paugam offers a different kind of experience, driven by the playful interaction between the two performers and their desire to present themselves together to the audience. The play explores the time each person takes to listen, observe, feel, and connect. How does Babouillec convey the distance that separates her from us? How can the present moment express what flows through her writing? Funny, enigmatic, and profoundly intelligent and sensitive, these two embody Lena Paugam’s promise to transform the stage into “an echo chamber that amplifies the muffled sounds of the world.”
*Thierry Thieû Niang will not be able to take part in the performances of Ovni rêveur – Le Corps éparpillé dans la tête. Present with the team during the research phases and up until the creation, he passed on the choreography of this project to Félicien Fonsino.
