Since 2014, the My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180) competition, organized by the CNRS and France Universités, has aimed to showcase the research conducted by PhD students and highlight the richness and dynamism of scientific research in France—from social sciences and humanities to environmental studies, biology, and physics.

This year, the national final will take place at La Villette. On June 17, sixteen young scientists from across France will take on the challenge of summarizing years of research in just three minutes while captivating the audience. A thrilling mix of suspense, emotions, and discoveries in a lively and engaging atmosphere.

Each participant must distill complex research into a compelling, clear, and accessible presentation for all. At the end of the evening, a jury will award prizes to three doctoral candidates, while the audience will also have a say by voting for the People’s Choice Award for the most convincing performance.

In France, the competition is organized by CNRS and France Universités. The final is hosted with the support of La Villette, in partnership with Casden, Maif, and MGEN.
