PARIS DANCE PROJECT
La Ville dansée
1h10
After a successful first edition of La Ville dansée, Benjamin Millepied, co-founder and artistic director of Paris Dance Project, presents a second edition centered around the theme of hypermodernity and the impact of technology on our lives.
A work was commissioned around Koyaanisqatsi and the music of Philip Glass. This choreography for 15 dancers was entrusted to Dimitri Chamblas, Emmanuelle Huynh, Benjamin Millepied, Jamar Roberts, and Pam Tanowitz. Chosen for the intensity of its gaze, Koyaanisqatsi inspires through its silent denunciation of the impact of contemporary society on nature and our social and environmental behaviors.
This collective ballet will be presented for free entry on 7 occasions in 7 different public locations across Paris and the greater Paris region between June 5 and 8, 2025.
With the support of the patrons CHANEL, Richard Mille, and RSM; Angénieux, Adami (as part of the Talents Adami Danse initiative), and Yquem; cultural partners and host venues: APHP, Cité du Cinéma, Hangar Y, Paris La Défense, La Villette, Monnaie de Paris, Seine-Saint-Denis Tourisme, SNCF Gares & Connections; and the cities of Meudon and Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine.
