With the Cadre Noir of Saumur & the Versailles Equestrian Academy 2024 Creation

To mark the occasion of this exceptional moment, Bartabas will direct for the first time the Cadre Noir of Saumur and the Versailles Equestrian Academy, for an equestrian ballet that blends uprightness and twirls, masculinity and femininity.
In the same vein as his greatest equestrian choreographies, Bartabas will pay tribute to traditional French equestrianism, for a unique merging of culture (the Versailles Equestrian Academy) and sport (the Cadre Noir). These two outstanding institutions will lay out their expertise in a series of sections (show jumpers, horseback fencing, carousel, long reins) choreographed to music by Arandel, recreations based on the works of Bach. In La Villette’s Grande Halle, Bartabas’ choreography will bring together twenty-five riders and around forty horses for a show that blends tradition with modernity, rigorousness with emotion.
