C^ie LA BARACCA - TESTONI RAGAZZI

A corpo libero [“The body freed”] seeks to recover the freedom of gesture through a score devoid of any artifice. It envisions the human body as a marvellous theatre of metamorphoses. Alone on stage, Ciccolini turns her figure into a moving landscape at once familiar and mysterious, funny and surprising. Her joints gradually awaken and her muscles begin to express themselves, tracing unexpected lines both elegant and absurd. In this dance of discovery, led only by the wonder of being alive, falls, creaks and organic rhythms form an improvised live score, further animated by the children’s spontaneous responses of joy in the audience. Taming one’s legs, marvelling at one’s arms, breaking into magnificent figures, each movement whispers a secret into the ears of young and old alike. With humour and vulnerability as its tacit guiding principles, this poetic performance quietly celebrates the full acceptance of oneself, from childhood awkwardness to the scars of maturity. A healing reconciliation with the grace and grandeur of our own imperfections.
