Brigitte Poupart, a leading artist in Quebec’s contemporary arts scene, travels back in time from an imaginary disaster to a time of innocence, inviting the audience to engage in an extraordinarily powerful ambulatory and sensory experience.

Actress, author, director, and filmmaker Brigitte Poupart blends theatre, acrobatics, contemporary dance, street dance, DJ sets, and even cinema (a short film is screened as a kind of prologue) to imagine a dystopia that is incredibly close at hand, palpable, and truer than nature. Twelve performers of varying provenance play the inhabitants of a devastated world. A disaster has struck. People can no longer speak, under penalty of mortal danger. Their bodies and gestures have become their only means of communication. Then begins the intimate, poetic, dreamlike reconstruction of the events that led up to this apocalypse. The audience follows this journey back in time alongside the performers, in a stunningly immersive, upside-down set design. Everyone “fabricates” their own performance depending on the viewpoint they choose, which they are free to amend at any time. This blurring of boundaries between the arts, between stage and audience, and between reality and fiction gives rise to a large-scale, emancipatory celebration which everyone, performers and audience alike, is invited to join.
