STÉPHANIE AFLALO
Tout doit disparaître
INITIATIVES D'ARTISTES
Est. 1h30
In her Récréations philosophiques (Philosophical recreations), Stéphanie Aflalo orchestrates joyous, explosive encounters between theatre and philosophy. In Tout doit disparaître (All must disappear), she ponders her relationship with her father to offer a moving contemplation of mourning and time.
Prompted by an intimate fear, Stéphanie Aflalo established a dialogue with her father that was designed to survive his passing. Appearing on a screen suspended above a piano, which is where the television was located in her family’s home, he speaks to her from the past through a recording, and she replies on stage, from the present of the performance. For this actress, author, and director, this is not live psychoanalysis. She is instead offering a kind of “grief training”, in which everyone is free to project his or her own attachments.
