STEP 2
WILFRIED «WOLF» BLÉ / Cie LA STRUKTURE • Quintessence
TONBEE CATTARUZZA / Cie LECTER • Et toi ?
Approx. 1h40
Presented together, Quintessence and Et toi? offer two complementary immersions into the world of contemporary hip-hop expression. With their melding of sensitive introspection and raw energy, these pieces feature bodies shaped by personal histories and shared desires. The two works arise from the same need to turn dance into a space for sharing and affirming.
WILFRIED «WOLF» BLÉ / Cie LA STRUKTURE • Quintessence
Quintessence features five performers who treat krump as a language of the body and the soul. Wilfried Blé, aka “Wolf” has composed a piece in which dance becomes a locus of resistance and liberation, in the spirit of a culture able to transform rage into a creative force. Inspired by the “session” – a krump ritual of sharing and pushing past one’s own boundaries – the piece converts this energy into a living entity. Ranging from confrontation to support, the bodies engage in an intense dance that expresses a raw humanity brimming with tensions and solidarity.
TONBEE CATTARUZZA / Cie LECTER • Et toi ?
In Et toi? [“And You?”], Tonbee Cattaruzza sends five performers on a personal yet universal quest for happiness. Using a sensitive yet powerful style of hip-hop, the piece expresses the dreams, doubts, discipline, faultlines, and impulses that shape our journey through life. Recorded voices make the bodies resonate beyond the space of the stage, thereby creating a space for introspection where stories and experiences converge in a shared desire for balance and purpose.
